2008 Emmy Winners!
Over the weekend the Creative Arts Emmys were held here in Los Angeles. Like last year, Battlestar Galactica took the Emmy. This time around, it was not the local Vancouver team that won. Here were the nominees.

Hi, I'm a vfx artist/digital compositor and I've recently found your blog and I love it - like having a knowledgeable and generous friend! While perusing your archive, I found that you posted about a meeting of the VFXTalk people in Santa Monica last year. Could it be that there is such a meeting still? Or do you know of meetings/groups similar in the LA area - I'm newish to LA and since I've been working freelance, I'd like to connect with other VFXers.
