Arunas.
So today is June 6, 2006.. 6-6-06, Devil's Day, apparently, and also the day of the California Primary. I went to the ballot station this morning a couple of blocks from home to vote, and it was empty inside, save for three volunteer pollworkers, playing guessing games ("He walked away blank, six letter word"). It distracted me for a moment from all the ballot options, as I tried to figure out what the blank word was.
When I handed my mailed card to the pollworkers, they commented on my name, and correctly identified it as being Central Asian.. Surprisingly, I met another Aruna today, his actual name is Arunas, and he was a older white guy, whose name is originally European of all things! Interesting.. I filled out my ballot, turned it in, received a receipt, and now will wait patiently until the end of the day to see what happens.
The Omen also comes out today, Tuesday, only for the base reason that it is June 6th. I'm sure that I won't be going to see the film, well, in theatres anyway, since it's not my type of movie. Creepy kids making people kill each other and themselves? Sounds so much like real life, I'll skip it.
