Two New Commercials

The new Chevrolet Impala SS commercials are now being regularly broadcast! I managed to catch a glimpse of them last night. The first one, Mirror, shows the reflective impala running alongside the car while the actor speeds away. The second one, Savannah, shows a miniature impala as it bounces around the interior of the car.

These two commercials have not been put online on the Tippett website just yet. I'm sure they will get there eventually. The first one, entitled Arrival, is. It's located in the Commercial > Spots area of the website.

Charlotte's Web work is slow and steady. I've taken over another shot since one of our compers is moving to the east coast. That brings up my shot count to thirteen, with two finalled so far. One more hopefully today. There are still a bunch of shots which haven't been assigned yet to compers.

For a change of pace and style, I decided to dress up yesterday. I put on a tie, sportcoat, dress shirt and slacks. In a workplace that is significantly laid back, I definitely stood out! Surprisingly, I was quite comfortable in this attire. It wasn't too constricting, and I felt more professional. It was interesting to hear the various comments here and there.. Looking sharp! So hot! Did you get the job? Where's the interview? What's the occasion? Somehow the response "Just because." doesn't seem to work.

I'm heading to the What is Real Roadshow in a couple weeks. The event I'll be attending will be held in San Francisco, and AME (Autodesk Media & Entertainment) will be showing off their new packages. I'm going to take a gander at the new flame and smoke machines, and see what's changed since I last laid my hands on one.

I'm developing a new product, which I'll be talking about here and there while I get the concept down and get a prototype ready. My previous foray into prototyping and product development ended short with the appearance of the Ring Thing. I had a similar product that I was in the midst of prototyping, and seeing this item cut short that development. The one following ended just as abruptly, with this T-shirt. Of course, their product was cooler than the one I envisioned, so props to those guys! It's a shame, because both times I told a couple of coworkers who were just as excited as me to get it developed and out there, and boom, there it is on ThinkGeek. This new product is in a different vein, something not visual effects related, and something that doesn't cater to the computer and tech community. Its target market is in food services, preparation, kitchenware, etc. It's much easier to show and display it than write about it, so until I get a prototype out, that's as much as I'm going to say! I have to prep some paperwork again for NDAs and confidentiality agreements to keep a paper trail of this invention, and in case I ever want to file a patent.
