My Work Area

I thought I'd share my home office and work office. They are quite juxtaposed!

Here at home I'm decked out with a 9x12" Intuos2, 18.1" TFT, regular optical mouse and regular keyboard. The machine running is a P4 2.4GHz with 512MB (ya, not enough) of RDRAM with about 400GB of SCSI connected storage. I have a broadcast monitor too, which is not pictured. I haven't had a chance to hook it up to anything just yet.I've also just received a new motherboard and RAM, so I'll be up to 2GB! I'll still use the P4 2.4 for a little while longer, but at least this new motherboard is CPU upgradable!

At work it's a little bit different. A 21" Dell adorns the desk, along with an optical mouse and a 6x8" Wacom. The machine is a dual AMD 2.4GHz with 2.5GB of DDR RAM and 500GB of IDE storage. I've used this setup since I started on Revolutions two years ago. Some artists are lucky (and fortunate) enough to get two machines, a linux box and a G5. Right now I'm stuck with one, and I'd much rather have two! I'd get twice as much work done. Usually I get stuck running two or more Shake licenses on one machine with one screen, and it gets cluttered pretty quickly. Top that off with working with as many as six shots at once, and I could use another box to offload some CPU time!
