What are your votes for the final three? For purely technical achievement, I'd vote The Golden Compass, Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End, and Transformers. Most likely it'll end up I am Legend, 300, and Transformers.

I'm pretty much 2 thumbs down bummed at the academy this time around, they throw in 2 animated films, then don't even keep them in the final 7? wtf is with that... Sunshine should damn well be on there! I was also a bit surprised not to see the Water Horse in there...

Ok, so we have a solid 4 films in here, but I don't know why Evan, Bourne, and I Am Legend are in there... I haven't seen Evan, but I never heard anything about the VFX of it, I admit I don't know, but I'm skeptical... I'd have to see the VFX breakdowns for Bourne, it's seamless which is cool, but I'm not impressed, same with I Am Legend, the CG dogs and Zombies didn't do much for me, but the desolate sequences of NYC were impressive... I don't know, where the funk is Sunshine! I'd rather see Harry Potter in there than the vfx beaters above. I know I'm bitter, but truly congrats to all, it's all great work!

My top 3 out of this mess:
# Transformers (silly but F'ing Awesome!)
# Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (just amazing work all around)
# 300 (beautiful, but the blood didn't hit the ground!?! ;)

Pirates Rules! :D

I'd love to see 300 win !!!
